ABOUT COHEN VETERANS BIOSCIENCE

Cohen Veterans Bioscience (CVB) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) biomedical research and technology organization dedicated to advancing brain health for millions of veterans and civilians by fast-tracking diagnostics and tailored therapeutics.

Our approach is to harness the power of biotechnology and advanced analytics to build platforms that enable us, with coalition partners, to execute research priorities set through the Brain Trauma Blueprint Roadmaps for PTSD, TBI and Suicide, that will accelerate solutions in years, not decades.

CVB is catalyzing research to advance brain health at all stages of scientific discovery while targeting many of the sources of failure in research—rigor, robustness, reproducibility, and transparency.

Our goal is to drive a change in the way we predict disease onset, objectively diagnose patients, identify specific targets for effective therapeutic intervention allowing clinicians to deliver optimized care and lives to be improved. https://www.cohenveteransbioscience.org/

HOW WE HELPED

A good night’s sleep is critical for good health. Most veterans and active military with trauma-related brain disorders (PTSD, TBI and suicidality) suffer from sleep disturbances, including insomnia. Insomnia impacts quality of life, productivity, and more. Infinite Hero is funding $50,000 to pilot CVB’s novel automated at-home platform that combines digital sleep-tracking sensors to objectively and accurately measure the impact of interventions, such as medications and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), on quality of sleep in Veterans who suffer from trauma-associated insomnia. The goal of this study is to collect data in a frequent, more consistent, and more naturalistic way through at-home monitoring, and to make the data accessible and understandable to both the clinician and to the patient. Once scaled, this new tool can be integrated with in-clinic or telehealth practices to allow providers or, patients themselves, to monitor treatment outcomes.
