The 2011 Oakley Pro Am Golf Tournament Series wrapped up its tenth and final event last Monday at the La Quinta Resort and Club in Southern California. The winners of each competition are now on their way to the Skull Cup, a ‘Ryder Cup’ style event which lands on the same weekend as the Phoenix Open in February, where golfers will be entrenched in the Oakley experience on the infamous 16th hole.
The original concept of the Oakley Pro Am Series was to bring together the club pros and Oakley’s key accounts and partners who drive awareness of the Oakley brand. It’s a highly anticipated day of golf, giveaways and good times and Oakley’s chance to ‘give back’ to those that make the brand successful.
Oakley took that concept one step further this year by designating Infinite Hero Foundation as the charity beneficiary of the series. Foundation ambassadors, including MSgt David Lind, U.S.M.C. Ret, traveled to six of the ten stops to raise awareness and funds for Infinite Hero to meet the needs of military heroes and their families. At each golf course, Infinite Hero had presence on a hole – showcasing the Oakley Infinite Hero Collection, sharing the Foundation’s mission and accepting donations.
Each event ended with an incredible dinner, raffle and live auction where Oakley’s key accounts and partners gave back the most. Anxious for great prizes, like autographed memorabilia and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to golf with top professionals, players donated $40,000 to Infinite Hero in the 2011 Pro Am Series.
Nearly half of those funds came from a single stop – Hackfest at Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu’s famed North Shore. Oakley Rep, Jason Sakamoto pulled out all the stops to create an unforgettable event for the players. He incorporated fundraising for Infinite Hero at every possible opportunity and the response was overwhelming.

Infinite Hero would like to thank Oakley, its amazing golf rep team and all the Pro Am Series players for their support and generous contributions.
