Foundation featured on Rusty Wallace Racing Team Cars for Subway Jalapeno 250
LAKE FOREST, Calif., June 30, 2011 – Infinite Hero™ Foundation, a non-profit public benefit corporation dedicated to raising awareness and funds to meet the needs of military heroes and their families, today announced its foundation launch to the NASCAR® community. In partnership with Rusty Wallace Racing (RWR), 5-Hour Energy® and Oakley, Inc., the foundation will unveil two race cars carrying Infinite Hero branding at the Subway Jalapeno 250 in Daytona over the July 4th weekend; a time when the nation celebrates the freedom that its military service men and women continue to defend around the World.
“I’m proud of my 21-year affiliation with Oakley, and I’m very excited that they’ve given Rusty Wallace Racing the opportunity to help launch the Infinite Hero Foundation to the NASCAR community,” said former NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series champion and 55-time race winner, Rusty Wallace. “The people at Oakley do a ton of amazing work to create equipment that protects our men and women in uniform; their support of the Infinite Hero Foundation really takes that to the next level. The members of our Armed Forces are true heroes who give everything to protect the virtues we hold dear. I’m really proud to be part of something that allows us to give back to them,” Wallace concluded.
“There are a lot of warriors and families that really need support as they deal with post-traumatic stress disorder, physical injuries and the impact of deployment, and I am so thrilled that Infinite Hero is going to make that happen,” said Sgt. Johnny Jones, U.S.M.C., a bilateral amputee. “Companies and individuals that partner with Infinite Hero are going to have a tremendous impact on our community.”
Of the two cars wrapped in Infinite Hero and 5-Hour Energy branding, the first (#62) will be driven by Michael Annett, and Infinite Hero branding will predominate the graphical design. The second car (#66) will be driven by Steve Wallace, and half the exterior will carry Infinite Hero branding. Both cars will race on Friday night.
Infinite Hero will have a hospitality suite where members of the media can learn more about the foundation and view the new Oakley / Infinite Hero exclusive eyewear collection. In addition, military service men and women will be on the race grounds as guests of Infinite Hero.
The Infinite Hero Foundation (IHF) carefully examines the issues that heroes and their families face in their daily lives and invests in innovative programs that meet their critical needs, honoring their sacrifice and empowering their future.
Infinite Hero depends on the public support of individuals and companies that are equally committed to honoring and empowering the heroes of today.
