How We Helped
ARMED FORCES FOUNDATION (armedforcesfoundation.org) received $300,000 to pilot a School Counselor Program at Ft. Belvoir Elementary in Fairfax, VA to support military-connected students and their families. The counselor aided the monitoring of students in both academic and socio-emotional environments and created developmental activities and workshops. IHF funds were applied toward the development of a Military School Counselor Toolkit, a curriculum and resource for training additional counselors, as well as an expansion of the counseling program into other areas.
