How we helped

To date, Vail Veterans Program (VVP) has received $255,000 in funding for VVP’s Winter Program Events. These therapeutic programs are specifically designed to dramatically decrease the isolating effects of physical and mental wounds by bringing together service members who survived severe combat-related injuries, their families and therapists. Additionally, funding was allocated to develop a collaborative partnership between HPI (Human Performance Institute) and VVP to provide high-level leadership and development training for alumni.  In 2019 Infinite Hero granted $25,000 to introduce caregivers to the Resilience Training course for the 2020 Caregiver Reunion. Thirty caregivers who previously attended a Caregivers Retreat will be invited back to Vail to continue their healing journey. The 4-day training allows participants to approach stress management in an innovative and proactive way. Instead of avoiding stressful situations, participants learn how to strategically manage stress and plan for adequate recovery. The program also includes empowerment workshops, wellness courses (yoga, nutrition planning, meditation), a financial planning course, outdoor recreation activities, and time for much needed rest and relaxation. This program is the first of its kind and the only program in the nation to offer this type of empowerment training to caregivers of wounded Veterans.
